Pawn is built on one idea: see before name. A child cannot use a fork until they can see the two pieces it would attack. So this rank trains pure board awareness, reading what each piece attacks and defends, spotting pieces left hanging, and checking that a move is safe before it is played. The goal here is fewer blunders, not flashy tactics. Everything that comes later is built on this.
